Life of an Architect Blog + Podcast
Life of an Architect started off as a blog created by American Architect Bob Borson. He began to expand the blog and adapt it into a podcast format with co host and fellow Architect Andrew Hawkins in 2018. Even if you are not an “Architect” the blog and podcast can have a lot of great insight on architecture, construction, design, client relations and a lot more.
Worth a listen for sure.

Thomas Heatherwick
Thomas Heatherwick, founder of Heatherwick Studio, uses both curiosity and passion for problem solving to create projects that are affordable, buildable and sustainable. The Heatherwick solution is to not take the conventional fixed path of design, but instead lead from human experience to design soulful places which embrace and celebrate the complexities of the real world. In this video he demonstrates his thought process behind a few of his projects: a folding bridge that curls up and ‘kisses itself’, taking seeds out of small paper packets and constructing a light-filled cathedral, and turning apartment buildings upside down to create a rain-forest amongst them.

5 Definite Ways to Create Better Cities
We are in an interesting time. We aren’t facing just one global crisis but two - the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.
Space10 - IKEA’s research and and design lab in Copenhagen created a new book: The Ideal City. It explores the ways architects, designers and urban planners are changing their design styles to create better cities for the future.
Making Cities More Resourceful, Making Cities more Accessible, Sharing Space and Resources, Making Cities Safer and Making Cities More Desirable are the 5 points they delve into.
In general, the new book breaks down ways to make urban spaces more inclusive and, thus, desirable for large swaths of the population.

“Our cities are a massive driver of the climate crisis; we have an affordable housing crisis in every major city around the globe; we’re not meeting the needs of the people who are actually living in cities; and despite living closer together, we experience increased loneliness, depression, and stress within our cities—so we really wanted to explore how can we actually solve this,”
— Simon Caspersen, Cofounder and Communications Director of Space10
